How I work
“We live our lives in the shape we make. To change the shape is to change the experience. To shape experience is to shape a life.”
— Stanley Keleman
During our development we learn to manage overwhelm and longing for unmet needs with unique physical shapes that become the underpinnings of thoughts, feelings, and identity. These are adaptive patterns that while functional, don’t always generate a satisfying experience later in life. We end up habitually making ourselves rigid, dense, porous, or motile in extremes that often have a high cost.
Together, we will work to discover how and when you are organizing yourself in ways that generate unwelcome experiences in your daily life and in your relationships. I will support you in learning how to recognize for yourself how you are shaping yourself, how to influence those shapes, and generate new ones that create a sense of satisfaction, vitality, and empowerment.
I also work psychodynamically, which means we’ll explore the meanings and patterns behind what’s happening in the here and now, while also tuning into what your body is holding and trying to communicate. I believe insight is most powerful when it’s relational, in the present moment, and embodied. Beyond insight alone, I am passionate about supporting people in making impactful and practical changes in their lives.
